To help access winecfg for the Proton prefix, you can use Protontricks and the following command in a terminal: protontricks gameid winecfg (in this case, protontricks 224940 winecfg) Xidi 1.0.2 works perfectly fine using the 32bit dinput.dll (to ensure the prefix refers to Xidi's dinput.dll, open the WINE configuration window for the prefix the game is installed with (winecfg), go to the 'Libraries' tab and add 'dinput' make sure it's set to 'Native'). FYI, only mouse and keyboard works for the game menu. I just tested Soul Reaver 2 in Windows 11 and Linux (manually installed through Lutris & GE-Proton 7.22) with an Xbox One Controller. I think the game uses dinput for all game input and maybe window events for menus. I have not figured out the right configuration to get it working on Proton. Maybe there's something different in the Steam release of SR2?Įdit: When using dinputto8 to forward the dinput7 API to dinput8 and using the dinput8 Xidi, it works under Windows. For some weird reason this game doesn't show up properly when streaming and only show a black screen. I also show how to use the DxWnd software that will enable anyone to livestream this game on Twitch. I'll have to look for another fix for that. This also corrects the widescreen aspect ratio of the game. This fixes the controls which has this weird glitch that makes Raziel dash forward when attacking for some weird reason. The game has issues with the controls though for the PC version. From there a new story unfolds with Raziel learning that Kain wasn't the true villain and there was a hidden evil with a higher power manipulating him and working behind the scenes. This game began from where the first Soul Reaver left off when Raziel travelled through the Time Streaming portal where Kain escaped. The game was developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Eidos Interactive. It has improved graphics since it came out on the PS2 aka PlayStation 2 and PC. This is the sequel to the first Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver. I made a video on how to fix Soul Reaver 2 for Steam PC version. If adding the files above didn't work the first time, just uninstall the game and delete everything in the Soul Reaver 2 folder and try again from the beginning.
